🌱 Greening your School — A Gift from The Weedy Garden
(Applications close on the 1st of September 2025)
The Weedy Garden is offering one AUSTRALIAN school a completely free food garden transformation — no cost, no catch, just a whole lot of love, soil, seedlings, and community spirit.
The chosen school will have part of its playground transformed into a hands-on food garden that kids and teachers can learn from and care for, including:
* Garden beds for veggies and herbs
* Compost bays for weeds and scraps
* A poly tunnel to start seedlings
* Fruit trees, trellises, a water tank? Let’s see what is needed
The project will be tailored to your school’s unique needs and space — and built with the help of your school community with the help of Weedy and Costa.

✏️ Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is only open to all schools in Australia.
* Only teachers or parents representing a school can apply.
There’s no cost to apply or participate. Just send an email telling us your idea. Make sure the school has permission to go ahead with the transformation if selected, and make sure to read the application details here before sending me an email.
📝 How to Apply
Email your application via the tab below before the 1st of September 2025!
Tell us:
1. Your school’s name, location and the name of the person applying on behalf of your school (must be a parent or teacher)
2. Include some photos of the proposed site. 3 to 5 is fine (just use your phone)
3. A group photo of the kids who will be involved. This photo will be published on social media and in The Weedy Garden Newsletter following the draw to show the school selected, so remember parents permission (I will only need permission if the school is selected).
4. Your food garden vision - (what you want to achieve). A short description of why your school needs more food growing and why you want to look after it.
5. Your community has agreed to help. Teachers, parents and kids will be there to get their hands dirty and bring their tools? There is time to prepare, so please prepare before you apply.
6. Confirmation that you have school permission and that the parents of the children involved have given permission for me to film!
All eligible applications who can complete the 6 points above will go into a random draw. One school will be randomly selected live on my channel in September (updates via my newsletter). I’ll bring the supplies with Costa, and help build the garden with your teachers, students, and families. And yes — I’ll capture the whole journey for the Weedy Garden YouTube channel.

The school receiving the makeover must have a schedule in Sept, October or November open to arrange and film the makeover during a two day Weekday or weekend event at the school.
